Scoring
- Rover stations claim 2 points per QSO for any band, any mode. (Please note that some logging software may not accurately account for 2 points per QSO, so it’s vital that you submit your claimed score with the correct information.)
- Portable stations claim 2 points per QSO for any band, any mode. (Please note that some logging software may not accurately account for 2 points per QSO, so it’s vital that you submit your claimed score with the correct information.)
- All other categories claim 1 point per QSO on any band, any mode.
- A separate QSO should be logged for each Arkansas county sent/received. (This is important for Rover or Portable stations near multiple county lines and those who contact them.)
- All stations claim 200 points for each valid QSO with bonus station WR5P.
- Stations can be worked once per band and mode.
- Contacts made by outside-Arkansas stations with other outside-Arkansas stations will not be counted for the Arkansas QSO Party.
- The TOTAL SCORE is the total QSO points multiplied by the total number of multipliers worked, plus any bonus points.
- Please note: your logging software may not automatically apply points for working the bonus station or Rover/Portable stations. Therefore, it is critical that you submit your claimed score with the correct information on the ARQP log submission form.
Information for Rover and Portable Stations
- We love Rover stations. They activate multiple Arkansas counties to help county and grid hunters, as well as promote additional areas of the state. Rover stations are incentivized by the ability to rack up more points by working stations while they are in/near multiple counties. When a Rover changes locations, they are basically a new station! Get ready for the pileups and think strategically to find locations that will allow for multiple counties per QSO and more points for you!
- Rover stations can work other stations once per band and mode each time they change counties. Logs must clearly show county changes.
- Rover or Portable stations that are within three miles either side of a county line or within a three-mile radius of a multiple county line, can transmit county abbreviations for all of the applicable counties.
- The county abbreviations can all be sent in the same transmission. But, this option is at the operator’s discretion. If multiple counties are used in the contact, both the sending and receiving stations must ensure that the multiple counties are properly logged for QSO and point credit.
Logging Requirements and Tips
- All stations must log each Arkansas-based station’s three-letter county abbreviation (see Arkansas County Abbreviations).
- Arkansas stations should log all U.S. states and Canadian Providences as the standard two-character U.S.P.S. abbreviation. Use “DX” for all stations outside of the U.S. and Canada.
- Stations outside of Arkansas in the 49 states and Canada should send their standard two-letter state/providence abbreviation (i.e. TX, FL, QC, ON, etc.) and log the Arkansas station’s three-letter county designation.
- Stations in the District of Columbia should use Maryland (MD) for this event.
- Logging software specific to the Arkansas QSO Party and many other contests include N3FJP, CQ/X de NO5W (for mobile operators), N1MM and more.
- The Arkansas QSO Party is an approved contest of the State QSO Party Challenge. Logs must be submitted to 3830Scores.com to be included in the Challenge.
- Please note: your logging software may not automatically apply points for working a bonus station or Rover/Portable stations. Therefore, it is critical that you submit your claimed score with the correct information on the ARQP log submission form.
- Self spotting is allowed.
